WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. -- New details have emerged about the shooting death Monday of a teenage boy in White Springs whose younger sister is accused of planning his demise.
At a news conference Wednesday, Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter said the murder weapon, a 9mm handgun, had been secured inside a locked bedroom at the family's home on Sophie Drive. When 16-year-old Damien Kornegay dozed off to sleep at some point Monday, Hunter said his sister
broke into the room through an outdoor window and loaded the weapon before shooting her brother.
